It’s a Boy. Maybe.

Our doctor in Beijing recommended we try and find out whether we’re having a boy or a girl while in the US, since she’s not legally allowed to tell us in China. We had planned to head to a clinic to get an ultrasound since we got back, but hadn’t gotten around to figuring out when/how.

Marilyn’s cousin, who’s a doctor, ended up helping us out by doing an informal ultrasound for us. From the looks of it, we’re having a boy, but he said he’s not 100% certain since he’s not an OBGYN.

We told ourselves that we’d be happy either way, but surprisingly, knowing that we’re maybe having a boy is taking some getting used to. We’re thrilled, but I think Marilyn’s afraid that our maybe son will be as much as a handful as I am/was. Muahaha.

Here’s a photo of the evidence. Feel free to weigh in below. Maybe.

  1. Diana, because too many Chinese couples got abortions when they found out they were having daughters (since they only get one child, they want a son so he will take care of them) and that was skewing the population to have too many guys.
